LITTLE MUDDY RIVER BASIN

                                06331000  LITTLE MUDDY RIVER BELOW COW CREEK NEAR WILLISTON, ND

LOCATION.--Lat 4817'04", long 10334'21", in NE1/4NW1/4 sec.5, T.155 N., R.100 W., Williams County, Hydrologic Unit 10110102,
   on left bank 37 ft downstream from centerline of highway, 1 mi downstream from Cow Creek, 4 mi upstream from Camp Creek, 10
   mi northeast of Williston, and 13 mi upstream from mouth.

DRAINAGE AREA.--875 mi2, approximately, of which about 100 mi2 is probably noncontributing.

                                                    WATER-DISCHARGE RECORDS

PERIOD OF RECORD.--May 1954 to current year (seasonal records only since 1984).

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,863.18 ft above sea level.

REMARKS.--Records good except for period of estimated discharge, which are poor. Some small diversions for irrigation. Some
   regulation by Lake Zahl, Fish and Wildlife Service reservoir 22 mi upstream and Blacktail Dam about 15 mi upstream.

EXTREMES FOR CURRENT YEAR.--Maximum discharge, 72 ft3/s, June 17, gage height, 5.54 ft; minimum daily discharge, 5.0 ft3/s, on
   several days, but may have been less during period of nonoperation.
