LOCATION.--Lat 47°16'05'', long 96°47'50", in SE1/4SE1/4 sec.19, T.144 N., R.48 W., Norman County, Hydrologic Unit 09020108, on right bank 30 ft downstream from highway bridge, 0.5 mi east of Hendrum and 4 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA.--1,600 mi2, approximately.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--March 1944 to September 1984 and May 1985 to current year. Operated as a high-flow partial-record station October 1984 to April 1985.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 836.75 ft above mean sea level (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Prior to July 18, 1989, nonrecording gage at same site and datum.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 9,350 ft3/s, Apr. 10, 1978 (gage height, 31.4 ft); maximum gage height, 32.3 ft, Apr. 21, 1979; minimum discharge, 0 ft3/s for some days in 1948-49.
