LOCATION.--Lat 47°01'50'', long 98°05'50", in NW1/4 sec.18, T.141 N., R.58 W., Barnes County, Hydrologic Unit 09020204, on right bank 600 ft downstream from Baldhill Dam, 8 mi northwest of Valley City, and at mile 270.5.
DRAINAGE AREA.--7,470 mi2, approximately, of which about 5,560 mi2 is probably noncontributing, including 3,800 mi2 in closed basin.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1949 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1308.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Datum of gage is 1,200.00 ft above sea level.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 4,740 ft3/s, Apr. 24, 1979, gage height, 36.26 ft; maximum gage height, 36.26 ft, Apr. 24, 1979; minimum discharge, no flow at times in 1950 and 1952-53.
