1997 Red River Flood Photos

Red River of the North flood on April 21, 1997. The photograph shows the East Grand Forks city levee and a partially submerged U.S. Geological Survey gage house (green building) on the East Grand Forks, Minnesota, side of the Red River of the North, 30 feet downstream from the DeMers Avenue Bridge and 0.4 mile downstream from Red Lake River. The gage house appears as a white dot on the aerial photograph of East Grand Forks flooding.
