- Water-use data for the Nation has been collected and compiled by the U.S. Geological Survey for over 50 years. Recently, the USGS North Dakota Water Science Center launched a web site pertaining to water use in North Dakota. Among the information included on the web pages are water-use data for 1985, 1990, 1995, and 2000, maps and graphs on water-use, a water-use directory, a glossary of water-use terms, a listing of water-use publications, and a water-use trivia game.
